What to keep in mind when choosing an infusion location

An intravenous (IV) infusion may be a new experience for you—but the flexibility of choosing a location can help you get started. Once your doctor has prescribed VYEPTI, work together with your insurance provider to set up the first appointment in a location most comfortable to you.

Through VYEPTI CONNECT®, program staff can work with your doctor and insurance provider to confirm if the selected infusion location(s) are covered by your plan. If your doctor sent a prescription to a specialty pharmacy, this brochure can help.

Depending on your insurance, you can choose from:

  • An infusion center
  • Home infusion
  • Infusion at your doctor’s office

Here’s what people have to say about VYEPTI

Prepare for each step

Getting ready for your IV infusion

  • Confirm your infusion location in advance
  • Enroll in VYEPTI GO to talk to a registered nurse for helpful information
  • Drink plenty of water leading up to your appointment so that you are well hydrated
  • Wear comfortable clothing. Make sure long sleeves can be rolled up over your elbow
  • Dress in layers in case the infusion location is warmer or colder than expected

  • Have what you need and know where you’re going

  • As with most appointments with a healthcare provider, bring needed paperwork with you, such as a list of all medications you are taking
  • Have the address of the infusion location handy, as it may be different from where you go to see your healthcare provider

Given by a healthcare provider

  • A nurse or other healthcare provider will start your infusion and be available to answer any questions you may have
  • VYEPTI 100 mg is the recommended dose, but your healthcare provider may decide that you could benefit from a 300 mg dose

Infusion time

The infusion will take about 30 minutes, but your total appointment time may vary.

Sit back and relax

Use this time to read, check emails, connect on social media, share your experience, or just relax.

Make your next appointment

Schedule your next VYEPTI appointment in 3 months before you leave the infusion location.

Return to your daily activities

Once your infusion is over, you can go about your day.

Tell your healthcare provider if you have any side effect that bothers you or that does not go away.
